The Monsanto Vegetable Seeds Division in San Juan Bautista donated time to the Community Food Bank as part of a nationwide effort during the company’s first “Rural Hunger Volunteer Week,” according to the Monsanto Company.

The San Juan group collected and packaged food baskets at the Community Food Bank of San Benito County in Hollister on Friday.

Hundreds of Monsanto Company employees at nearly 40 different locations across the U.S. were involved in the company’s first “Rural Hunger Volunteer Week.”

According to a statement from the company: The employees will be volunteering in teams at their local food banks this November as part of Monsanto’s push to raise awareness about and combat hunger in rural America.
