a slight jolt.
A 3.0-magnitude earthquake gave some San Benito County residents a slight jolt.

The quake hit at 6:08 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It had an epicenter four miles north of Tres Pinos and five miles east of Hollister. The epicenter was 12 miles east of San Juan Bautista and about 20 miles southeast of Gilroy.

It occurred at a depth of 4.6 miles, according to the USGS.

The earthquake was felt in downtown Hollister. It was a slight, minor rumble.
