The San Benito boys’ volleyball split a pair of contests to Alisal and Soquel last week, as it picked up a win over Alisal Thursday in Tri-County Athletic League action, but dropped a non-conference matchup to Soquel on Saturday.

The Balers’ win over Alisal came in three sets, 25-16, 25-16, 25-16, while their match to Soquel went five sets, with San Benito earning the first two sets, 25-20, 28-26.

But Soquel battled back to win the next three sets, 26-24, 25-16 and 15-13 in the fifth and deciding game.

No details were reported at press time.

San Benito is now 4-1 in the TCAL, 8-4 overall.

The Balers will return to league action on Tuesday when they will visit Seaside at 6:30 p.m.
