In its first action since April 19, the Anzar High baseball team returned to the diamond last week and picked up another league win despite dropping a pair of games against two non-conference opponents.
Returning last Wednesday, April 27, the Hawks played three games in four days, dropping their first game to North Monterey County by a 12-0 margin.

Anzar also fell 8-5 on Saturday to Mission College Prep in San Luis Obispo, in what was its second non-conference game of the week.
But the Hawks did score a key victory on Thursday, when they traveled to Monterey and defeated Trinity Christian 4-1. The Warriors, Anzar manager Andrew Barragan believes, are one of the top teams in the Coastal Athletic League this season.
No one has been able to knock the Hawks from their CAL perch so far, though. With Thursday’s win over Trinity Christian, Anzar remains undefeated in the CAL at 8-0.
Details were not reported at press time.
Anzar (11-8) will be back on the field, and back playing CAL opponents, on Tuesday. The Hawks will host Anchorpoint Christian in San Juan Bautista. First pitch is 4 p.m.
