were named to the All-California softball team by ESPN Rise/Cal-Hi
Sports, the online publication tabbed another former Haybaler last
weekend, this time to its All-California baseball team. Daniel
Arevalo, who was second on San Benito with a .402 batting average
(33 of 82) this past season, was named to the All-California
baseball third team by ESPN Rise/Cal-Hi Sports, which just last
week named former Balers Jessica Vest and Jessica Steigelman to the
All-California softball team.

Daniel Arevalo, who was second on San Benito with a .402 batting average (33 of 82) this past season, was named to the All-California baseball third team by ESPN Rise/Cal-Hi Sports, which just last week named former Balers Jessica Vest and Jessica Steigelman to the All-California softball team.

Arevalo was selected as a multi-purpose player on the all-state list, and was part of the 40-man third team that included only seniors from large schools.
This season, Arevalo’s .402 batting average included a team-high 33 hits and two triples.
He was second on the team for RBIs with 24, runs scored with 24, and also contributed four doubles and two home runs.
Arevalo also had an on-base percentage of .456, a slugging percentage of .573, and was 6 of 8 on stolen-base attempts.
In Tri-County Athletic League play, Arevalo batted .442 (19 of 43) for the Balers, which was the sixth best in the league, while his 13 RBI figured into the top 15.
Other notable players to be named to the third team included T.J. Braff of Palo Alto, Brett Fuller of Mitty, Tyler Olivet of Los Gatos and Logan Trowbridge of Aptos.
Notable first-team selections included Tyler Davis of Mitty and Alex Blandino of St. Francis, while Ben Sneider of Palo Alto, Richard Prigatano of St. Francis and Nick Morehead of Wilcox were named second team.
Gilroy junior Bubu Garcia was named first team all-state for underclassmen.
