A local family is asking for help in keeping an eye out for

A local family is asking for help in keeping an eye out for Jamaela Alhadi, a missing 16-year-old who ran away Sept. 7 and hasn’t been home since.
Her brother, 23-year-old Dee Alhadi, suspects his younger sister is in the company of a 33-year-old man. Dee thinks Jamaela may be romantically involved with or receiving drugs from this man, who lived next door to the Alhadis on Ervin Court off Monterey Road. The Alhadis have since moved Aug. 24 from that address, and now reside on the 9000 block of Desert Bloom Place.
“I looked at stuff on her phone,” said Dee. “She had been texting him and calling him and talking to him all day.”
Jamaela’s phone is now turned off, he said.
Dee said the family filed a missing person report with the Gilroy Police Department Sept. 7, which has a detective looking into the case.
Dee describes his sister as 5 feet tall, weighing 110 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She is a home school student enrolled in Ocean Grove Charter School, which is based in Placerville.
“Every thing was good. We gave her whatever she needed. I had no clue any of this would happen,” said her brother. “The last few days, she was acting really weird.”
Dee said his family has made fliers, posted notices on Jamaela’s Facebook page and is working with police.
“I don’t know what’s going on with this guy,” Dee added, referring to their former neighbor.
Dee believes this older man, who Dee said is married with children, is also missing.
“There’s obviously a relationship. If there was nothing wrong with him, he would go home,” Dee said.

According to GPD Sgt. Chad Gallacinao, “the department is actively investigating this case, and will continue to follow up on leads as they become available.”
