City was delayed on annual striping work
The City of Hollister had a chance to start its annual striping work about two months ago, but got delayed because its paint truck broke down, said streets official Marcelo Orta. But the work is back on track after repairs to hydraulic parts. The city got the machine fixed and is using another portable laser painter to finish up the job.
The delay lasted for about three weeks, but the crews are continuing the work. They have finished all the city parking lots and are now working on stop areas and center stripes (in a partnership with the county because it owns a special machine for that).
The job as a whole involves striping to the lots, traditional street parking spots, T-bar parking and diagonal street spots, Orta said.
“Then we’ll be going out to all the major thoroughfares,” Orta said.
