The Gilroy Police Department has released security photos of a man wanted for robbing more than $3,000 from a local Walmart.

Police say the suspect walked into the store on Camino Arroyo around 8 p.m. Friday and passed a note demanding cash to an employee at the customer service counter.

The employee, which police said was “fearing for their life,” handed over approximately $3,300 cash.

Police described the suspect as a white male adult, 6 feet tall with a medium build. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a white Reebok windbreaker, San Francisco Giants baseball cap, blue jeans and white tennis shoes, police said.

The employee couldn’t confirm to police whether the suspect was armed, but they believed he was, according to GPD.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call the GPD at 846-0350, or anonymously at 1-800-782-7463.
