Two-time league champion Alisal showcased its speed and scoring ability on Tuesday when it ran past the San Benito Haybalers 4-0 to improve to 7-1-3 overall.

The Trojans are 2-0-1 in the Tri-County Athletic League.

“They’re fast. They were way too fast for us,” San Benito head coach Ramiro Ramos said. “They pretty much dominated from the beginning.”

Alisal led 2-0 at halftime.

Implementing a 5-4-1 formation, San Benito managed to hold the Trojans for about 25 minutes, Ramos said. But the Balers could not mount any attack against Alisal, and Ramos moved one player forward on offense as a result.

“We were defending them well,” Ramos said. “I ended up moving one guy up, and I think I opened it up a little bit for them.”

San Benito falls to 0-1-1 in the TCAL, 3-5-1 overall.

The Balers will be return Thursday when they will host North Salinas (0-3 TCAL, 4-3-2) at 3:30 p.m.
