The Gilroy High boys tennis team moved to 4-1 in the Tri-County Athletic League with a narrow 4-3 triumph over San Benito on Thursday in Gilroy.

The match, deadlocked at 3-3, came down to the No. 3 doubles match, and it was the Mustangs’ tandem of Tevin Voorhees and Alex Medina who outlasted Balers Mark Starritt and Travis Mills 7-6 (7-1), 7-5 to gain the all-important fourth point that decided the match.

San Benito (4-2), which started the season 3-0 in the TCAL, is now 3-2 after dropping a match to Salinas on Tuesday.

The Balers (4-2) will kick-off the second half of their league schedule on April 13 when they will visit Palma at 4 p.m.
