For a second straight week, wet weather has washed out nearly a full slate of local action for Tuesday, including contests at San Benito High, Anzar High and Gavilan College.

San Benito High

The baseball team’s scheduled home game against Everett Alvarez was postponed until Saturday. The two Tri-County Athletic League opponents will meet up in Hollister at 2:30 p.m.

Prior to Saturday, though, the Balers will visit Salinas on Friday at 4 p.m.

Meanwhile, the boys tennis team’s scheduled home match against Gilroy at the Ridgemark Golf and Country Club was postponed, although no make-up date was announced.

The Balers will visit Everett Alvarez on Wednesday at 4 p.m., and are then scheduled to open the TCAL Championships on Thursday and Friday. Due to several rain dates this season, however, boys tennis coach Chris Yoder surmised whether the year-end tournament might be pushed back a day, allowing for an extra day to make-up washed out contests.

The San Benito-Salinas track and field meet, scheduled to be held in Salinas at 3:30 p.m., is expected to begin on schedule as of press time.

Anzar High

The softball team’s scheduled Coastal Athletic League game against host Trinity Christian in Monterey was postponed to the inclement weather. No make-up was announced.

The Hawks are slated to play again on Thursday when they will visit Marina at 4 p.m.

Gavilan College

The baseball team’s scheduled game against visiting Canada College on Tuesday was postponed. No make-up date was announced.

The Rams are expected to be back in action on Thursday when they will visit Hartnell College in Salinas at 2 p.m.
