Hollister police announced Monday they have arrested a man suspected of persuading a young girl to get in his car outside of R.O. Hardin Elementary School on March 15, 2010.

Police arrested the man, Cristobal Trevino, 34, on March 30, after the girl recognized the man when he passed her home on a bicycle, according to a press statement released Monday. She quickly told a relative, who called the police and reported the man’s whereabouts.

Soon after, the police arrested the man near Union Road.

Trevino was arrested and charged with suspicion of intent to commit a sexual offense with a minor and for annoying or molesting a minor. Trevino is in custody at the San Benito County Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.

His next court appearance is scheduled for today at the San Benito County Courthouse.
