The Top Hatters of Hollister is hosting the 14th annual Halloween Night Time Pack Poker Run Oct, 30, at Whiskey Creek Saloon, 201 Fifth St. Sign in is from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The fee is a $15 donation. Halloween story time

There will be a Happy Halloween story time at Mars Hill Coffeehouse, Oct. 30th, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., at 610 San Benito St. Kids are invited to dress up as their favorite pirate, princess, cowboy or any other non-scary costumes to listen to some “faboolous” stories. The story time will also feature songs, games and crafts. The story time is free and discounts will be offered on food and drinks during the event. The Hollister Free Wheelers are hosting a fundraiser drive. The will collect aluminum cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles, at Marguerite Maze, 900 Meridian Ave., Oct. 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pick ups can be arranged by calling 636-3271. The proceeds benefit S.H.A.R.P., a nonprofit formed in 1998 to support programs such as the Hollister Free Wheelers, a power wheelchair soccer team.

Rummage sale and car wash

The Hollister YMCA karate program is hosting a rummage sale and car wash, Oct. 30, from 8 a.m. to noon, at the Sunnyslope Medical Building. Car wash tickets are $5 for a small vehicle, $7 for mid-size vehicles, $10 for large vehicles or trucks and $15 for extra large vehicles or SUVs. Harvest Dance

The Central Coast Young Farmers and Ranchers Harvest Dance is set for Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. at the Paraiso Vineyards, in Soledad. The event will benefit Ag Against Hunger as well as Farm Bureau programs in San Benito and Monterey counties. The event will feature a strolling dinner and a full bar, featuring local wines. Lights On Celebration

The Hollister Downtown Association presents the 20th Annual Light On Celebration in downtown Hollister, Nov. 27, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This free event begins at 5 p.m. with a Merchants’ Open Houses, roaming carolers, costumed characters and other live entertainment. The parade of lights starts at 5:30 p.m., with more than 60 entries including Jaime the Elf and Santa and Mrs. Claus. Sock Monkeys in the Wild

Shannon Grissom will host the exhibit “Sock Monkeys in the Wild,” at the Blak Sage Gallery, 727 San Benito St., featuring 40 sock monkey paintings. The opening reception on Dec. 1 at 5:30 p.m. will feature sock monkey making demonstrations, a sock money haiku contest, a sock monkey queen and king contest, a raffle for a quilt to benefit the YMCA of San Benito County, a Christmas tree and a reading by Grissom of her book “Monkey Made of Sockies.” Grissom will also make an appearance during the Lights On Parade Nov. 27.
