California Mutual Insurance Company marks its 90th Anniversary of providing insurance protection to residents of San Benito County and throughout California. A policyholder with a “mutual” insurance company is an owner in the company as well.
All policies are issued from the local Hollister office, located on San Benito Street, in the Klauer Building. California Mutual is much more automated than in earlier periods, but it still retains the personal service on which it was founded.
In 2007, California Mutual formed Calvista Insurance Agency, which is located on Fifth Street. This agency, operated by Jayme Stewart with Mary Ann Meyers and Dawn Gullien, represents most of the insurance carriers operating in California.
