Seventeen employees in the Hollister Fire Department took home six-figure salaries in the 2013 calendar year. Another 11 employees in the Hollister Police Department had pay eclipsing the $100,000 mark, according to data provided by the city to the state.
Each year, municipalities such as Hollister are required to submit compensation data to the state controller’s office, which publishes the information on the web.
Data for the most recently reported year, 2013, shows that the two public safety departments had the most employees making over $100,000 among all city departments.
The Free Lance has requested more detailed data on overtime pay for public safety and other departments in the city.
