At 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, a victim reported being confronted by two suspects who tried to steal his vehicle with a gun in the 600 block of Chappell Road. The victim reported to police a male suspect and a female suspect confronted him with a gun and attempted to steal his vehicle. The case is still under investigation.

ARRESTS

Battery on person, Sunnyslope Road

At 8 p.m. on Monday, a victim reported that a male suspect had confronted him regarding some comments that were said in the 900 block of Sunnyslope Road. The suspect then struck the victim in the face and threatened him not to tell anyone about the incident. Police arrived and located the suspect. The 40-year-old Hollister man was arrested and booked into the county jail.

Tampering with a vehicle, San Benito Street

At 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, officers on patrol were waved down by a reporting party regarding a subject who was causing problems in the 500 block of San Benito Street. The party told police the suspect was potentially damaging vehicles in the area. After further investigation, officers discovered the 57-year-old Hollister man was trying to open doors of the vehicles. He was arrested and booked into the county jail.

Possession of marijuana for sale and possession in vehicle, Sunnyslope Road

At 9 p.m. on Friday, police stopped a car for a vehicle code violation in the 1000 block of Sunnyslope Road. Officers talked with the driver and noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. A search of the vehicle revealed a hidden compartment holding a “large amount” of marijuana. The suspect, a 22-year-old Hollister man, was arrested and booked into the county jail.

False identification, Meridian Street

At 10 a.m. on Friday, police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation near the intersection of Meridian Street and Vintage Way. The 26-year-old Hollister male driver gave police a false name. He was arrested and booked into the county jail.
