City of Hollister public works and parks department crews have responded to citizens’ concerns published in the Public Works section by recently fixing a couple of glaring problems – a stop sign covered by growing tree branches and a series of potholes on Sally Street.

The first needed repair described in this section of the newspaper was a tree on Cienega Road and Eastview Drive, where growing limbs had become an impediment blocking off the intersection’s stop sign from oncoming traffic. The issue, tree limbs blocking stop signs, has cropped up a few times recently, and the city’s public works and parks departments have responded rapidly to the issues by cutting the extra-long branches.

The second set of repairs were on Sally Street, one of the older and longest thoroughfares in the city where a series of about a half-dozen potholes had formed between Hawkins Street and Nash Road. Crews rapidly filled those holes, and drivers this week could feel more at ease about taking the route.
