A red Acura Legend lost control Wednesday evening turning westbound on the 900 block of Del Rio Drive, slamming into a black Volkswagen Jetta. The accident is currently being called an injury accident, although Sgt. David Westrick with the Hollister Police Department said he was “unable to confirm injuries” as a result of the accident.
Westrick said the driver of the Legend was possibly being chased, leading to the accident.
“(We) contacted the involved party but we’re still investigating to see if he was being chased,” said the department’s personnel and community services officer.
At 9 p.m. Wednesday, police report the driver was traveling northbound on Line Street and turned left onto Del Rio Drive where he “spun out” and struck the parked car.
Westrick said officers on scene were unable to verify witness statements.
Responding to the scene were members from the Hollister Police Department, the Hollister Fire Department and American Medical Response.
