Local tree business opens seasonal operation today
For more than 20 years, Bourdet’s Christmas Trees near Hollister has been providing an array of offerings to local residents, and this year’s operation at 1271 Los Viboras Road opens today.
While the business offers a place for local residents and families to enjoy the tradition of picking out their favorite Oregon Christmas trees to decorate for the holidays, it also offers an array of activities at the location east of Fairview Road, Tina Bourdet said.
“Our weekends are when we have all of our activities going,” she said.
Those include such attractions as food concessions run by the local Lions Club, a petting zoo offered by the county’s Future Farmers of America organization, a “wonderful sleigh ride” and a playground for the kids. Bourdet noted how there are “a lot of picture taking” opportunities and how Santa Claus will be at Bourdet’s as well. There also will be coloring books and candy canes for the kids.
“And our activities are free,” she said. “We do not charge.”
Bourdet pointed out how the additional activities will be available during the first three weekends of the season. Residents, meanwhile, also have the option of cutting down their own trees, she said.
