“An Afternoon of Fashion,” a fundraiser event for the nonprofit All Creatures Great and Small Rescue last weekend at The Cedar House, turned out to be “absolutely phenomenal,” said Vivian Kennedy, the executive director of the group.

With “over double the turnout” from last years’ event, Kennedy and her colleagues were all amazed at the outpouring of help.

The Cedar House, which hosted the event, actually closed down temporarily allowing ACGS Rescue’s guests to fill more than two rooms. With hundreds of people attending and double that in raffle and silent auction items, almost everyone went home with a prize. The event showcased the community and local businesses’ support, which helped raise needed money for the organization in a fun way. The fashion show featured clothing from local businesses such as Drapoel, Teezerzs, Muenzer’s, She’s and Mrs. B’s Place.

ACGS Rescue, which works to rescue and rehabilitate animals that would likely otherwise have been euthanized, will use all proceeds from the fundraiser to “take care of animals and start new special programs next year,” Kennedy said.

Raising funds is vital for nonprofit groups such as ACGS rescue, yet “we are prevailing,” she said.

Jean Huber, an ACGS Rescue board member shared Kennedy’s appreciation, and her love for the nonprofit organization stating “of all the groups I have ever worked with, this is one of the best.”
