After defeating Santa Clara last Thursday, the Anzar Hawks dropped their final two games of the Sobrato Bulldog Chase Tournament in Morgan Hill, losing 61-33 to Sobrato and 48-45 to Santa Teresa.

On Friday, the loss to Sobrato only saw four different Hawks score, with Erik Olson leading the way with 13 points. Steven Mockabee added 10 for Anzar, who couldn’t keep pace with a Sobrato team that had 11 different scorers on the night.

On Saturday, the Hawks took a 15-point lead to the half, but were outscored 38-16 in the second half and lost by three to Santa Teresa.

“Everything was going great,” said coach Ed Cecena, who’s team was ahead 17-5 after one quarter and 29-14 at halftime. “It was just the opposite in the second half. They outscored us 38-16 in the second half and fatigue got to us again.”

Olson had 21 points and nine rebounds for Anzar, while the guard Mockabee added 12 points and eight rebounds.

Anzar will open the Mission Trail Athletic League next Tuesday at Greenfield. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
