The competition took place in San Jose earlier this month. San Benito high beat out eight other schools for the championship once again.

The other schools who participated were: Lynbrook High School, Los Gatos High School, Valley Christian High School, Mountain View High School, Monta Vista High School, Alvarado High School, San Mateo High School and Los Altos High School.

Color Guard Director Camille Zuniga said she is proud of her team and their accomplishments during the past two years, according to a press release. Winning the California Color Guard Circuit for that class is like winning a Central Coast Section division, she said in the release.

Winter Guard Captain Melissa Tabrizi was presented an outstanding performer award, and David Bergen was awarded the Harry Ariza Scholarship, according to the press release. The Baler Band Boosters received an award for Outstanding Show Sponsors for the show they hosted at Mattson Gym this past March.
