Central Coast routs Soquel-Capitola 42-0
Gilroy
One week removed from a difficult 28-21 defeat to the Salinas Spartans, the Central Coast Barnstormers got back on track rather easily when they hosted the Soquel-Capitola Sharks in Gilroy Saturday.
Facing a team that has yet to score a point this season, the Barnstormers routed the Sharks 42-0, and improve to 2-2 overall.
Central Coast is 1-1 in the South Division of the Northern California Amateur Football Federation.
“We looked really good,” head coach Greg Garcia said. “The past couple of weeks, we’ve been focusing on the run, and our offensive line was dominant against Soquel.”

Central Coast will visit San Jose to take on the Predators (2-1) Saturday at 2 p.m., in a South Division showdown.
San Jose is coming off a bye week, and currently sit with a 1-0 record in South Division.
Garcia, who saw the “family” aspect from the Salinas game carry over to Soquel, is hoping that continues this weekend in San Jose.
With a win, the Barnstormers will be above .500 for the first time this season.
“This week they were playing for their brother and everybody was able to touch the field,” Garcia said. “That’s what we want in our program.”
