Autumn arrives right on time
Sept. 21 came and went and with it brought us the season of
fall, and it sure feels like fall in our party of the country. The
mornings are cool and crisp and the leaves are starting to turn
colors and fall. This is my favorite time of the year, not too hot,
not too cold, the holidays are right around the corner and
football!

Sept. 21 came and went and with it brought us the season of fall, and it sure feels like fall in our party of the country. Birthday wishes go out to Bob Flores who celebrated the big 7-0 last week. Daughter Cynnie hosted a birthday barbecue in his honor, and his grandson Shane’s birthday as well. They barbecued and shot skeet at David and Cynnie’s home last Saturday afternoon. Besides family, a few others stopping by to wish the birthday boys well included Laurence and Donna Hansen, Johnny Joe and Darlene Maggini, the Brewen family, the Hurley family and Casey Sabin, just to name a few.

Laurence and Donna Hansen just returned home from a month long vacation. They left on Aug. 15 and flew from San Francisco to New York where the boarded a plane and flew to London. In London, the boarded a Princess Cruise Line ship and sailed around the British Isles to Scotland. From there, the transferred onto another ship and cruised around the English Channels to Norway. They sailed home by way of Iceland and Greenland before ending up in New York again. They returned home on Sept. 14. Donna really liked Iceland and said they had a wonderful trip.

John Brewen and Lou Harbin also had a nice trip recently. They left on Sept. 4 and headed to Alaska where they, too, boarded a trip for a 10-day Alaskan cruise. They had a great time on their trip as well. There sure is a lot of excitement in Alaska these days, home of Vice Presidential Candidate, Sarah Palin. After listening to some of her speeches lately, sounds like Alaska is a pretty good place to live!

The King City High Mustangs had their home opener last Friday night against the Santa Maria Saints. It was a tough defensive game but thankfully the Mustangs pulled off the win in the final quarter. Way to go Mustangs! Todd and the kids enjoyed the game while I worked in the concession stand. While working, I was able to visit with many friends, including Dudley Brinnan. Dud’s living in the San Jose area now but made it home for the Hall of Fame Game last Friday night.
