My friend’s mom really doesn’t like her boyfriend and my friend
mentioned that she and her boyfriend have talked about having a
baby so then her mom will have to like him. This sounds like a bad
idea, but I don’t know how to talk her out of it. What can I

Dear Mama Drama,
This is a TERRIBLE idea! Not only will her mom despise him even more, but your friend cannot handle a baby, and I don’t think her boyfriend can either. If she wants her mom to like her boyfriend, he needs to take the time to get to know her mom and show that he cares for her daughter. All moms are like this. My mom was like that with my boyfriend. Whenever he comes over, she should have him at least sit down with her mom and try to have a conversation. The baby thing is simply out of the question.

When I was on my friend’s myspace page the other day, she had a picture of my boyfriend with his arm around another girl. Should I be worried or do you think he was just being friendly?

I think the first question that should be answered is why is a picture of your boyfriend on her myspace? This sounds a bit shady to me. Confront your boyfriend about it. Let him know you are insecure about that and that it bugs you. Maybe he was just being nice. Look at the picture and check his body language. Are they extremely close? Or does it seem to be an awkward pose. You could just be over reacting, but it doesn’t hurt to ask either. I know that if it was my boyfriend, I would ask.

It is very easy to register. Just go down to the post office, and fill out a voter registration form. All you have to do after that is mail it. No stamp required! You will be sent information on the next voting time.

I work early in the morning and I never eat breakfast at home, but I feel like I should start because it’s supposed to be healthy for you. What are some quick things I can eat on the go?

The easiest thing to eat when you are on the go is a granola bar, piece of fruit or both. Pick something that is easy to hold or is small. You can also pack cereal in snack bags and eat it dry if you like that.

I am going to be a freshman at San Benito High School next year. What is the best club or group to get involved in on campus?

Dear Starting Early,
I am pleased to hear that you want to start getting involved early. I got involved my senior year and wished that I had started earlier. It all depends on what you like to do. The high school has many clubs for any type of person. If you like writing, there is the Writer’s Gathering club. If you like chess, they have a chess club. Also, ASB and class office take all kinds of people. School politics can be exciting and bit of a challenge, but are both well worth it.
