In a correction made on Sunday, the Anzar girls volleyball team
will now play Thomas More, not Castilleja
SAN JOSE

On Saturday, the Anzar Hawks earned the No. 5 seed for the Central Coast Section Girls Volleyball Championships – Division V, slated to begin Saturday.

Anzar, at 15-11 overall, was orginally scheduled to face No. 4 Castilleja (12-15) in the quarterfinal round. However, in a correction made on Sunday, Castilleja was moved up to the No. 3 seed, while Thomas More (29-7) was moved from the 2-seed to the 4-seed, and will now face Anzar on Saturday, Nov. 15.

No location or time has been announced.

If the Hawks defeat Thomas More on Saturday, it would advance to play the winner between No. 8 Pacific Collegiate (16-14) and No. 1 St. Francis CCC (19-11) in the semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 20 at St. Francis CCC.

Mount Madonna, at 16-13, was awarded the No. 2 seed and will face No.7 Highlands Christian (18-9), while No. 3 Castilleja (12-15) will square off against No. 6 Pinewood (13-12) in the other match.

The championship final will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22 at Independence High School in San Jose.
