About 40 cheerleaders came out last weekend to the San Benito Cheerleading Camp at San Benito High School, preparing for the upcoming season. Participants practiced on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on tumbling, stunt team and pyramid building, and learned three different dances.

“Every year they attend camp,” said head coach Emily Bettencourt, “and it just prepares them for the upcoming season.”

The annual golf tournament, the squad’s largest fund-raiser of the year, will be held Aug. 17 at San Juan Oaks Golf Club.
