Two Hollister couples celebrate their 50th wedding
anniversaries
Two long-time Hollister couples recently celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversaries.
Dr. Richard and Mila Mitchell were married on June 8, 1957 and
commemorated the day with a small celebration locally. The couple
continued the celebration in Lake Tahoe with their children
– Richard, David, Mila-Mary and Michael – as well as their
children’s spouses and their five grandchildren.

Two long-time Hollister couples recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversaries.
Dr. Richard and Mila Mitchell were married on June 8, 1957 and commemorated the day with a small celebration locally. The couple continued the celebration in Lake Tahoe with their children – Richard, David, Mila-Mary and Michael – as well as their children’s spouses and their five grandchildren.
Murrill and Elaine Conley celebrated their golden anniversary with a dinner and dance at the Lincoln Hills Grand Ballroom in Lincoln.
The high school sweethearts married on Feb. 10, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and raised their three children in Hollister. They have been Hollister business owners since 1959. Their operations include Conley’s Texaco Station, Thrifty Wash and Granny’s Wash coin laundromats and the Fourth Street and Hillcrest Avenue car washes. The couple retired two years ago and moved to Lincoln, but continue to have business interests in Hollister.
The Conleys celebrated their anniversary with their three children – Michael, Maryann and Rick – as well as their spouses and their five grandchildren.
