The San Benito County Fair on Monday announced attendance figures and other numbers. Attendance was up 11.5 percent to 18,907, but there was one extra day in 2015 over the three-day event in 2014.

The 2015 San Benito County Fair celebrated increased attendance and a record-breaking Junior Livestock Auction. The Fair welcomed 18,907 guests over its 4-day run, resulting in an 11.5% increase over last year’s 3-day fair.
Fair Manager/CEO Donnette Carter commented, “We are pleased with the overall results of the Fair this year. The 33rd District Agricultural Association (DAA) Board made a number of changes to enhance the full fair experience for our exhibitors and guests. The many positive comments received let us know we are on the right path with our facility and Fair improvements.”
The Junior Livestock Auction sales supported the youth exhibitors with a record $1,005,749, surpassing the ‘million dollar mark’ for the first time in the history of the Fair. On top of this figure, the Heritage Hog raised $77,000 in support of the San Benito County Heritage Foundation which funds capital improvements and other projects at Bolado Park Event Center. In 2014, the total livestock auction, including the Heritage Hog, was $865,000.
Livestock Chair Rodney Bianchi commented that, “Businesses and residents of the local and surrounding communities were very good to our livestock youth. The sale increase was over $200,000 in excess of 2014. Livestock market entries were up by 40 this year, but we really attribute the million dollar sale due to buyer generosity as they consistently step-up to support our youth.”
The 33rd DAA Board extends its gratitude to the volunteers, award contributors, sponsors and others who provided talent and resources for the 92nd offering of the San Benito County Fair.
