He didn’t win either of the first two rounds, but that didn’t make any difference in the end. Ryan Jacobs saved his best for last.

With a dominant performance in the finals, Jacobs won the Little League Home Run Derby at Veterans Park on Saturday. The power-hitter of the Major Brewers crushed 15 homers in the championship round to win the crown.

Enrique Lopez of the Major Mariners finished second with six home runs. Tyler Smith, a Major Met, finished third with two blasts in the three-slugger final.

The Derby consisted of 22 players, each of whom had hit at least two home runs during the course of the season. The contestants used their own pitchers in the event.

With that All-Star event in the books, the star hitters turn their eyes back to the playoffs. Highlights include the Major American championship game between the Orioles and Angels on Wednesday and the Major National title game, pitting the Mets against the Rockies on Thursday.
