CALLER 1: Friday, Hollister played football at (North) Salinas and there was an unsportsmanlike play by (North) Salinas towards the end of the game. There was a man that just started bellowing and swearing and calling the umps names, wanting the kid ejected.

He had a voice that boomed out. He was complaining because there was poor sportsmanship by the player, but he continued to bellow until the end the game. A lady in front of him asked him to stop. He continued to do it until the game was over.

This is the kind of thing that spoils it for the rest of us that go to enjoy the game. He has got a child playing. He also has a member of the family who teaches at the high school. He should have been the one that was ejected from the ballpark, not the player. I think something should be done about it.

GREEN PHONE: It sounds like it was getting ugly in the stands, as well as on the field, Caller 1. Don’t you hate that one fan that ruins it for everyone else?!

Passionate rooting is what attending sporting events is all about, but going overboard in such a vocal way has no place in amateur athletics. Even in a professional setting, persistent use of inappropriate language buys you a ticket to the parking lot.

Two players, one from each team, were ejected late in the San Benito–North Salinas game, but it sounds as if the referee needed to flag an offender in the stands, too.

CALLER 2: Commitment to losing! That is what I see coming out of the Raiders organization. No professionalism, whiny players, players that behave like criminal’s. They aspire to be more like gangster’s rather than great football players. Give me a break! Until the Raiders move away from this thug mentality, they will always be a lousy team! However, they will still have support from all the real gangers who love the Raiders. Now that’s commitment!
