your approach to curricular design would carry the day. As it
stands, however, science is conducted by scientists, not people

When it comes to science, it doesn’t matter what the majority of people believe; the key is what scientists know. What they know is that Intelligent Design may be many things, but it is in no way science or even a science-like substance.
I’ll tell you what I’m afraid of, since you ask: I’m afraid that faith will usurp science in our nation’s science classes. Let’s keep science in the science class and religion in the Sunday school.
