Dear Editor:
Last week, I attended the forum at City Hall because it was my opportunity to hear each of the candidates running for supervisor. I’m pleased about attending this function because it made it clear to me that a change in leadership is way overdue.
Mr. Freitas clearly addressed his concerns and above all, expressed an understanding of the problems we all face. He has been around a long time, but his roots go much deeper in this county. For generations, this county has been his bread and butter. Anyone who knows him respects his determination to finish any job he starts no matter how long it takes.
He has no trouble getting your attention when necessary. I certainly needed a wake-up call.
Like some folks, I just take things for granted. This county and its citizens are very special and he makes that perfectly clear. He is ambitious and has a keen instinct for what is right and wrong and what is fair and unfair.
It is very important that we exercise our right to vote. Like Anthony says, our veterans made it possible for us to make choices and to make a difference.
I thank the Chamber and the Farm Bureau for the forum last week. Above all, I thank Mr. Don Marcus, Mr. De La Cruz and Mr. Freitas for having the compassion and integrity to step up to the plate to make the needed changes.
I am convinced and I agree with them that Measure G is not the answer to the growth issue. Quality leadership for all the citizens is what we need. This election is our opportunity to make a difference. We need a change and we need it now.
