San Benito’s No. 1 golfer Zach Zgragen is out for the season after breaking his wrist in an accident at his home.

“For any coach in any sport, when your No. 1 player gets hurt, the rest of the players have to do their best to step up,” said Baler coach Mark Tinder. “Our first priority is making sure he is healthy and not puting too much stress on it.”

Zgragen has competed in eight of the Balers’ 10 matches this season. He may not be able to qualify for an All-League selection because of a round at Eagle Ridge, where he had a 46, Tinder said. Only the top six season scorers qualify.
