Dear Editor:

As a parent of a student and a teacher at Gabilan Hills School, I am appalled at the false information reported in (Wednesday’s) paper.

Our yard duty staff are caring, responsible people. Security is important as is the safety of children. This is why non-staff members must sign in at the office and wear a name tag for identification purposes.

Parents are repeatedly invited to volunteer at our school. We have also been actively looking for additional yard duty personnel due to being understaffed. Letters requesting both volunteers and yard duty occasionally appear in the weekly newsletters that go home on Wednesdays.

Gabilan Hills newsletters are translated into Spanish every week. Copies of these newsletters are at our school for anyone who wants verification of the facts.

Christine Martinez,

Hollister
