DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: A 17-year-old female Hollister resident was arrested by Hollister police for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, at Sunnyslope Road and Beverly Drive at 3:53 a.m. on Sunday.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: Gerald Gilparen, 50, who lives in the 1400 block of San Juan Road in Hollister, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, at 12:01 a.m. on Highway 156 at Barneisel Road on Sunday.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: Andres Reza Guaderama, 21, who lives in the 100 block of Sally Street in Hollister, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on charges of driving under the influence and driving without a license, both misdemeanors, on Highway 25, south of Highway 156 at 2:15 a.m. on Sunday.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: Jose Merida, 24, who lives in the 2400 block of Flory Drive in San Jose, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on charges of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, on US 101 north of Cannon Road at 2:20 a.m. on Sunday.

ROBBERY: Hugo Barrios Mendiola, 26, of 1761 Wright Rd. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for repeatedly crank calling 911, a misdemeanor, at 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, according to police. He was arrested later that day for felony robbery at 4:40 p.m. after he demanded money from a customer at the Beacon gas station on San Felipe Road, and when the person wouldn’t give him any money he stole a bag of potato chips they had just purchased out of their car, police said. Police finally arrested Mendiola at the Quick Stop Market across the street from Beacon after a clerk reported he was throwing display items around the store, police said.

BATTERY TO A POLICE OFFICER: Irene Casillas Sosa, 40, of 190 Santa Ana Rd. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for battery against a police officer and trespassing, both misdemeanors, after she was observed standing and yelling in the middle of the road in the 1100 block of Hillcrest Road around 6 a.m. on Friday, and when an officer tried to talk to her she ran into the Hillcrest Cemetery, which was locked, and then spit on the officer attempting to arrest her, police said.

BURGLARY: Unknown suspects stole $300 worth of stereo equipment after they smashed the driver’s side window of a 1992 Honda on the 400 block of East Street sometime between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Friday, Hollister police said.

GRAND THEFT: Unknown suspects stole $400 worth of stereo equipment out of an unlocked 1991 Jeep Cherokee in the 800 block of Marne Drive sometime between 6 p.m. on Thursday and 8 p.m. on Friday, Hollister police said.

All persons named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
