The North County Joint Union School District is registering children for kindergarten for the 2003-04 school year. Registration packets are available from the Spring Grove School office between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on school days.

Children entering kindergarten must reach the age of 5 by Dec. 2, 2003. All required paperwork must be on file before a child can be placed on a class list.

The following are state and district requirements for incoming kindergartners:

-Birthdate verification: Birth certificate, baptismal certificate or passport.

-CHDP examination: State law requires each child to have a full health exam before entering first grade. It is preferred that the CHDP exam is given before kindergarten.

-Proof of residency: Utility bill with name and physical address.

-Immunizations: Polio, OPV or IPV (three doses; one more required if last dose was given before 4th birthday); DTP/DTaP/DT/Td (four doses; one more required if last dose was given before 4th birthday); MMR (two doses of measles, at least one of mumps and rubella – usually both given as MMR; both must be on or after the 1st birthday); hepatitis C (three doses); varicalla (one dose or health care provider-documented disease or immunity); TB skin test (must indicate date given, date read, mm indur. and impression).
