of Commerce Saddle Horse Show Parade Thursday night.

The 70th annual San Benito County Saddle Horse Show and Rodeo comes to Bolado Park this weekend, starting with the county Chamber of Commerce Saddle Horse Show Parade Thursday night.

The parade will start Thursday at 6:15 p.m. along San Benito Street. Street barriers will be put in place at 5:45 p.m.

After the event, a block party on Seventh Street will be held featuring country music, a tri-tip barbecue, whiskerino contest, 4-H roping demonstrations and a cherry pit spitting contest. Prizes will be donated by Hazel Hawkins Hospital and H.O.P.S. Hallmark. The block party is sponsored by the Free Lance.

The Saddle Horse Show and Rodeo will be held Thursday through Sunday at the Bolado Park Fairgrounds.

Friday and Saturday barbecues, along with Figure 8 roping, cowhide races and kids corral will be held. Also, a western arts and craft show is part of the annual event.

The show begins at 7 p.m. Friday and at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $7 Friday and $10 Saturday and Sunday.
