The ledger for the CyberRays makes them the most successful girls youth traveling soccer squad to come out of San Benito County in years, according to team head coach and league president Carlos Moreno.

“I know we would be good,” said Moreno. “I wasn’t surprised we won. This team is a good technical team. That’s what we stress in practice.”

The CyberRays finished the season strong, winning their final three games. On May 17, the CyberRays edged the Palo Alto White 2-1 at Vet’s Park. On Sunday, May 18, the CyberRays traveled to Palo Alto to blank the previously undefeated Stanford Wildfire 1-0. On May 31, the CyberRays won a road test vs. the Santa Clara Stingrays 2-1.

“Most teams are older than us and more physical,” said Moreno. “This year we’ve been able to finish better than we did last season. A lot of these girls will be very good players in high school.”

Members of the under-11 CyberRays include: Courtney Allen, Adriana Carrillo, Alyssa Carter, Hannah Cobb, Ana Godoy, Brittany Henderson, Elizabeth Miller, Samantha Moreno, Simoney Orosco, Elyse Perricone, Stephanie Villalobos and Sara Yamasaki.

Steve Perricone is the assistant coach.
