“I have been reading the letters to the editor and Citizens Voice about the Sarsfield, Hill, Damkar, Cantu, LaForge, Stafford and Boomer feud. While following the continuing saga I decided it was time to enter the fray.

I read a letter from Greg Zazueta attacking Curtis Hill. I did not find this surprising because I was told that Greg had left the Sheriff’s Office when Hill was Harvey Nyland’s undersheriff under less than ideal circumstances. I did not find it surprising that Greg would bring up the alleged brutality incident since it never would have occurred if he hadn’t gotten into a fight off duty and gotten his nose broken by acting unprofessionally. I also heard that Stafford was the one who ordered Hill to duty status that evening along with other deputies to find the suspects who broke Zazueta’s nose. Stafford did this knowing the deputies had been consuming alcohol after a ball game.

Next I read from another individual how he had been told that Stafford had solved over 60 murders including the “pig farm” murders, the Teledyne murders and the Gustavo Marlowe murders. First, I have done some research on the cases and discovered the “pig farm” murders were solved when a forensic anthropologist was called in and discovered human remains among the animal bones in and around a burn pit. Secondly, the Teledyne murders were never solved since the suspect Stafford had targeted was found not guilty. Some believe it is more likely the “confidential informant” Stafford believed actually committed the crimes. Thirdly, In the Gustavo Marlowe case, Marlowe was discovered in another jurisdiction and when Stafford was notified, he ordered them to not make an arrest until he arrived. The officers sat on the scene until Stafford could arrive and “get the collar.” As for Stafford solving in excess of 60 murders, anyone who checks the records would quickly learn that is a GROSS exaggeration. All homicides are solved through team efforts and not just the actions of one man with a huge ego. I truly feel empathy for the families of those who lost loved ones via the hand of others and hope that justice is served and credit is given where credit is due. Don’t believe everything you hear.

Although I did not vote for nor support Sarsfield when he ran for District Attorney, I believe he is trying to make a difference and doing what he believes is right unlike others who tend to play both ends against the middle.”

“When are the judges in San Benito County going to stop rubber-stamping the child and spousal abuse cases that come before them? Why was Stephanie Rodriguez ordered by a judge to return to Hollister only to be killed? Why was the judge so quick to give Stephanie’s killer, her abusive estranged husband, his so called “parental rights?” He was obviously given the opportunity to kill Stephanie by the court. Wake up judges and look at all the facts before you rubber stamp again. Everyone knows an abusive person is usually a pathological liar when he comes before you in court.”

“Question for John Hodges and all election departments in California: Since numerous candidates have withdrawn from the recall race what will become of the thousands of absentee ballots sitting in elections offices that have a vote for a withdrawn candidate? Shouldn’t these ballots be considered null and void as the votes don’t serve any purpose? Shouldn’t these voters be given an opportunity to re-vote for a legitimate candidate? Is this voter fraud? It was wrong for John to encourage absentee voters to cast their vote and return their ballots back to the election office A.S.A.P. If you think absentee voters aren’t going to go on a rampage guess again! Now what are you going to do? This situation affects the entire state not just San Benito County!”
