pride tryouts
The Pride of Morgan Hill girls softball tryouts for 12A, 14A and 16A will be held Sunday, Dec. 14 at Community Park in Morgan Hill. 12A and 16A age groups are 1 p.m. The 14U pitchers and catchers start at 1 p.m., and position players meet at 2 p.m. Players need to bring a birth certificate with them. Special rate
Every Sunday during the month of December, donate at least one canned food item per person and receive the special green fee rate or $60 (walk) or $75 (with cart) at San Juan Oaks. All donations will go to the Hollister Community Pantry to help feed needy people this holiday season. Details: 831-636-6115.
Babe Ruth signups
The San Benito Babe Ruth signups will be Dec. 16, Jan. 6 and Jan. 13 at Straw Hat Pizza from 6-8 p.m. Fees for the 2004 season are $165 per child and $145 for each additional child. Details: Call Cindy Jordan at 630-1986 or go to eteamz.com/sanbenitobaberuth.
Little League signups
Hollister Little League registration will take place today at Straw Hat Pizza from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. A final registration will be held Saturday, Jan. 3 at the Hollister Recreation Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fees are $85 for the first player, $50 for an additional player and $50 for T-ball. Please make sure to bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate (to be kept by the league), medical insurance information, check or cash (no credit or debit) and a copy of a valid government issued photo identification from the registrant. Space needed
The Razorback Wrestling Club is a nonprofit organization looking for a workout facility. They have two full size 60′ by 60′ wrestling mats that need to be accommodated. Workout space is extremely limited. Any help or suggestions are helpful. Please Call David Salcedo at 831-902-0651.
Heat registration
Hollister Heat Girl’s Softball will be holding registration for the 2004 season Wednesday, Jan. 5 and Jan. 8 at the Marguerite Maze library from 6-8 p.m. Details: Call 638-9123.
Basketball camp
Applications are now being evaluated for the Ten-Star All-Star Summer Basketball Camp. The camp is by invitation only. Boys and girls ages 10-19 are eligible to apply. Players from 50 states attended the 2003 camp.
