San Benito County’s unemployment rate ticked up in July, according to the California Employment Development Department.
The county’s jobless rate was 7.9 percent for the month, up from 7.8 percent in June, according to state data released Friday. There were 2,100 local people receiving unemployment benefits in July, according to the EDD.
The county’s jobless rate in the June report from the California Employment Development Department showed the 7.8 percent figure, down from 9.1 percent in May.
Statewide in July, the jobless rate remained unchanged at 7.4 percent.
