Lori McIntosh

At the age of 8, horse camp was all Lori McIntosh dreamed about back in Virginia Beach, Va.
Although her first trail ride on a quarter horse named Trigger ended with a broken arm, she had no fear riding. McIntosh became an equestrian addict, as well as a lover of photography when her dad gave her a Polaroid camera at age 12.
Her father has been photographing families for environmental portraiture for more than 60 years and inspired McIntosh to become a professional five years ago.
McIntosh believes horses represent freedom, spaciousness, history, grace and beauty, and says that even people who aren’t around horses love the majestic look of them as art.
“For me, owning horses is a lifestyle and there is nothing better than having a loyal loving companion take you along some of the most gorgeous vistas right in our backyard,” she said.
