Hollister Police officers are investigating a possible attempted abduction reported by a juvenile girl that allegedly occurred Tuesday evening in the area of Beverly Drive, near Hillcrest Road.

According to a police report, officers were called to Rand Street at 9 p.m. with a report of a possible attempted abduction. The juvenile girl told officers she was walking her dog when an male driving a black older pick-up truck allegedly approached her and motioned for her to get into the car. The girl allegedly ran to a nearby residence, where the residents allowed her to call the police.

In the police report, the officers said the girl said the man in the alleged incident did not say anything and stayed in the vehicle. She described the man who allegedly stopped her as being in his 50s, with short gray hair and a large build. She described the pick-up truck as a smaller black pick up with unknown items in the bed of the truck.

Hollister police officers said they are investigating the case as a possible attempted abduction. They also said in their report children should never get into a vehicle with a stranger and should seek out help right away.
