The Hollister City Council on Monday is set to consider approving a budget and the incoming police chief’s contract.
Council members will meet at 6:30 p.m. at Hollister City Hall, 375 Fifth St.
Under the consent agenda, council members will weigh the contract for incoming Police Chief David Westrick. He is set for a swearing-in ceremony Tuesday as well.
According to the contract, he would start with a salary of $121,746 and would receive a car for work use. If terminated, he would receive severance pay equal to six months of salary.
Later in the meeting, council members are set to weigh passing the 2013-14 budget. The total budget is at $44.17 million, with general fund spending of $17.41 million.
