On Saturday morning, 50 students from Hollister received a back-to-school shopping spree at Target.
It was sponsored by Target, The Salvation Army and Community Foundation for San Benito County, according to a statement from The Salvation Army. The shopping spree was among several in the region, providing a total of 90 kids each with an $81 shopping spree to obtain “backpacks, lunch pails, uniforms, graphing calculators, or whatever they choose to help fill their supply lists,” according to the Salvation Army.
Participating children were picked by the Salvation Army, which focused on choosing disadvantaged kids.
