The Bureau of Land Management has lifted fire restrictions for the Hollister area, according to a statement from the federal agency.
The BLM’s Hollister Field Office lifted the seasonal fire restrictions as of Oct. 16 on public lands within the Hollister Field jurisdiction specific to the Tumey, Griswold, Ciervo and Panoche Hills, according to the announcement.
According to that statement:
All vehicle routes designated as open routes that were closed during the seasonal restrictions are open for public access. Campers must obtain a valid California campfire permit to build campfires on the public land. Cooler temperatures and precipitation have reduced fire risk but BLM encourages visitors to keep their campfires contained and observed at all times. Visitors are required to have a shovel and water on hand to completely extinguish a fire before leaving the campsite. For more information contact the Hollister Field Office at (831) 630-5000.
