A San Juan Bautista woman died in a motorcycle accident Sunday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 44-year-old was a passenger with a man riding a 2005 Harley-Davidson at about 2:30 p.m. on eastbound Highway 152 east of Watsonville Road at an unknown speed.
According to the CHP, a black BMW attempted a U-turn and pulled out in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle rider lost control and hit the ground, ejecting the two riders.
The driver sustained minor injuries, but the passenger died from the injuries while at a hospital, according to the CHP.
The BMW occupants did not sustain injuries. The investigation is continuing.
Last weekend, Friday through Sunday, the City of Hollister put on the Hollister Independence Rally. It’s unclear if the riders were coming from the event.
