The seasonal homeless shelter is set to open Dec. 3 through the end of March from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m., according to the county.

Security check-in measures will be in place at all times. The shelter has space for 40 people distributed over 10 rooms, with four beds per room.

People staying at the shelter will be provided three free meals a day: a hot dinner, a continental-style breakfast and a sandwich lunch.

Transportation will be provided with multiple pick-up and drop off points.

Transportation services can also be utilized to take people to appointments.

Supportive services include workshops, activities, and guest speakers.

San Benito County Health and Human Services is preparing to hire and train staff.

The shelter faced some staffing challenges last year, but some staffers will be returning to help out.

The agency will move forward with a plan after final board approval on Oct. 25.
