A 36-year-old Hollister man died in a vehicle accident Monday on Highway 101 south of Monterey Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at 3:52 p.m. The Hollister man had been southbound on a 2016 Yamaha and struck a 2007 Ford driven by a 50-year-old San Juan Bautista woman. The CHP reported that traffic had been “stop and go” at about 15 mph, and the CHP was unsure why the motorcycle hit the other vehicle.

The CHP reported that citizens who may have witnessed the collision or have further information regarding the collision are encouraged to call and report the information to the Hollister-Gilroy CHP Area office at (408) 848-2324.
